Warschawski Chosen By Pompeian for Baltimore PR

by | Jul 14, 2015

Mount Washington-based Warschawski has been hired by Pompeian, Inc., the number-one importer of olive oil in America, headquartered in Baltimore. Warschawski will create a local public relations strategy to generate awareness in the community and assist with community outreach initiatives as part of the deal. Warschawski was selected following an agency search process. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Located in downtown Baltimore, Pompeian has sustained a strong presence in the community for over 100 years and was America’s first national olive oil company. Pompeian ships more than eight million gallons of olive oil in bulk through the Baltimore harbor each year, and bottles and packs it daily in its downtown facility. The company also produces gourmet vinegars and cooking wines, including the bestselling red wine vinegar in the country, and is the only extra virgin olive oil brand to be certifiably approved by the United States Department of Agriculture.

Pompeian recently expanded its Baltimore facility and launched a new production line for its eco-friendly cooking sprays, in an effort to increase capacity and product quality. Since 2008, the company has more than doubled its facility and now occupies 200,000 square feet, according to a press release. The recent expansions include a Tasting Lab and the new Pompeian Olive Oil Center.

“Being a Baltimore-based company is an important element to our brand’s identity, and we believe that this partnership with Warschawski will help further highlight our devotion to the local community and improving the area,” Pompeian CEO David Bensadoun said in the release.
