# Cade Martin Photographs NBA All-Star Weekend Gala

**The National Basketball Association Wives Association** – [Behind the Bench](http://www.behindthebench.org/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) – hosted the Touching a Life Gala to benefit the American Cancer Society last Friday evening in NYC. **Cade Martin** created portraits during the NBA All-Star weekend featuring some of the athletes and celebrities who attended the gala. The D.C.-based photographer, who also photographs Capitol Communicator’s popular [profile series](https://capitolcommunicator.com/tag/profiles/), teamed with [Tenacity5 Media](https://www.facebook.com/Tenacity5Media) on the project.

Shown above is **Rock Blackwell,** photographed by Cade Martin, who was at the gala. Behind the Bench, the National Basketball Wives Association (BTB) formerly known as Women of the NBA was established in 1993, as a national non-profit organization by founder **Deborah A. Williams,** Ph.D. Its membership is composed of current and retired NBA players’ wives and life partners. As the first national player-wives organization, Behind the Bench’s agenda addresses the challenges that face families, especially women and children.

Behind the Bench raises money and devotes time to charities on a local, national and global level. Through heightened public and social awareness, members are able to reach into their respective communities seeking to enrich the lives of families and youth.
