# D.C.-Area Agency Updates: Qorvis, Bluetext and LEVICK

**The food-recovery nonprofit Food Rescue Hero signed Qorvis Communications** to develop and execute a communications campaign as part of a national expansion of its Food Rescue Hero technology. According to a release, Food Rescue Hero develops innovative solutions to maximize the distribution of surplus food in urban regions where food waste and hunger are prominent. The nonprofit created an Uber-like app that civic groups and public-private partnerships can use to effectively distribute unsold food from retail stores and wholesalers to food banks, community kitchens and other institutions.

**Defense industry giant CACI selected Bluetext** for its new digital platform, including corporate website and subsites.

**D.C.-based LEVICK added Derede McAlpin** to lead the company’s litigation communications practice. McAlpin rejoins LEVICK from the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) where she served as the Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of the largest organization dedicated exclusively to serving the interests of more than 45,000 in-house lawyers around the world. Prior to her six-year tenure at ACC, she worked at LEVICK for more than seven years.
