**MGH has appointed Chief Creative Officer David Wassell as the agency’s new president**, ushering in a new era of leadership as the Hunt Valley-based agency embarks on its 30th anniversary. In addition to his new role as president, Wassell will continue guiding all creative and strategic output for the agency’s diverse client base.

According to a press release, Wassell will lead MGH’s executive management team, while shaping the agency’s renewed growth, vision, and continued creative evolution. One of his first initiatives is an agency repositioning and cultural refresh, laying the foundation for the next 30 years.

“I started at MGH 24 years ago as a young art director with a passion for creating campaigns that started conversations and drove action, and was given the opportunity and freedom to think big and beyond,” Wassell said in the release. “As I embark on this next chapter, I’m excited to extend my strategic thinking to help foster agency growth, challenge the status quo, and help curate the future of MGH.”

With this shift in leadership, agency owners **Andy Malis** and **Jane Goldstrom** will assume the roles of Founders/Senior Advisors, providing guidance and regular consultation to Wassell and the executive management team.

Wassell joined MGH in 2001 and has led many of the agency’s most recognizable campaigns, including Ocean City, Md., Department of Tourism’s “Rodney the Lifeguard,” creating iconic outdoor for Smyth Jewelers – the east coast’s largest jewelry store, and breathing renewed life into Mid-Atlantic staple OLD BAY. Most recently, Wassell helped Korean-based bb.q Chicken connect with American consumers through award-winning branding and advertising campaigns, and his branding work for Mason’s Lobster Rolls led to a Best in Show win at the Baltimore ADDYs. Throughout his career, Wassell has received more than 200 local, regional and national awards for client campaign work.
