# Design Army’s Pum Lefebure Featured in H&M Ad

**H&M, the Swedish multinational clothing-retail company,** has launched a “stunning new ad” that, states [Adweek](http://www.adweek.com/adfreak/hms-stunning-new-ad-subverts-what-you-think-lady-should-look-or-act-173487?ref=capitolcommunicator.com), “subverts what you think a lady should look or act like.” And, the ad features, among others, **Pum Lefebure,** chief creative officer of D.C.-based Design Army.

  
Adweek, in part, stated:

“**Tom Jones**‘ 1971 hit “She’s a Lady” was a braggadocio anthem to all the men who’d found the right kind of woman—the kind who has “style and grace,” but, and this is important, “always knows her place.”

“Of course, the **Paul Anka**\-penned song wasn’t really about a woman—the titular lady could be anyone—but about a man. That man, in 1971, as second-wave feminism was spreading, had managed to find a lady who would rather go to dinner with him than join NOW.

“In any case, that’s exactly why H&M’s use of the song—a new version from duo Lion Babe—in this new ad is so wonderful. H&M has created a feminist anthem soundtracked by a classically misogynist song, for a spot meant to redefine how you think women should look, act and think, where they stand in society, etc.

“The ad, by Swedish agency Forsman & Bodenfors, shows various women—including actress **Lauren Hutton**, model **Adwoa Aboah**, trans actress **Hari Nef**, Design Army’s chief creative officer [(one of Adweek’s Creative 100 this year) ](http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/50-creatives-whose-brilliant-ideas-and-beautiful-craft-will-make-you-jealous-172547?ref=capitolcommunicator.com)**Pum Lefebure** and Lion Babe’s **Jillian Hervey**—doing whatever they want, dressing however they want, existing as human beings instead of idealized ladies.”
