**We all get busy** **and sometimes important items** pass us by. Carousel30 , a Capitol Communicator sponsor, is collecting important stories for communicators that you may have missed while crunching on a deadline or involved in other activities and here are updates you may have missed:

**What’s Your Reaction?**

Facebook updated their infamous “Like” button. Don’t worry, the “Like” button didn’t go away, but it now has five additional features behind it called [Facebook Reactions](http://www.engadget.com/2016/02/24/facebook-reactions/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com), providing users with more empathetic expressions towards posts. Facebook Reactions provide a wider range of expressions instead of dedicating all emotions to just one button. To use the , simply click and hold the “Like” button to choose your emotion. Facebook will show the top-three emotions for each post, but you can [see an even more detailed breakdown](http://mashable.com/2016/02/25/how-to-use-facebook-reactions/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com#B9jJfsQqv8qn) of how many people had a certain reaction by hovering over the emoji. [For advertisers](http://www.wired.com/2016/02/advertisers-feel-facebooks-new-reactions-%F0%9F%98%8D/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com), Reactions enable a better understanding of how customers *really* feel, eliminating much of an advertiser’s guesswork. Furthermore, it will give content marketers the ability to [understand their audience ](http://adage.com/article/digital/facebook-expands-button-launches-reactions-globally/302812/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com)and give them more of what they would like to see. Do you Like it or Love it?

**Twitter’s New Timeline: Just in Time?**

Twitter has been making a lot of changes lately, most recently with their timeline. [Earlier reports stated](http://mashable.com/2016/02/05/twitter-new-timeline-report/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com#NrhkyXkjcuqa) that they may launch a timeline similar to Facebook, leaving their signature reverse-chronological format in favor of highlighting more interesting or relevant tweets. Needless to say, many Twitter users [were not happy](http://mashable.com/2016/02/06/riptwitter-twitter-change/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com#KWVP02PdU5qY) about the proposed change, causing a trending #RIPTwitter in the UK. Although this massive update is optional (for now), [advertisers are skeptical](http://mashable.com/2016/02/10/twitter-timeline-brands/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com#.Yj56C5hUEqD) even with Twitter’s new premium [advertising offer plans](http://mashable.com/2016/02/09/twitter-video-ads-top-feed/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com#pL.5sfWeEPqU). Why is Twitter making so many major changes, you ask? Twitter’s [stock hit an all-time low](http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/jan/05/twitter-shares-plummet-rumor-10000-character-tweets-jack-dorsey?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) a few weeks ago and they’re really due for a saving.

**What’s New with Google?**

Google made a few big changes in the past few weeks, starting with the [launch of AMP listings](http://searchengineland.com/live-google-launches-amp-results-in-mobile-search-results-243147?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) in mobile search results. Check your mobile browser to see if you’re seeing Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP). If you’re not, there’s [ways to get around that!](http://searchengineland.com/get-started-accelerated-mobile-pages-amp-240688?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) Moving on from mobile to desktop, Google also announced it will be completely shutting down its [compare products feature](https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-shut-compare-products-march-23/157163/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) by the end of March due to under-performance. Google has also made a big change with its [paid search layout](http://searchengineland.com/243057-243057?ref=capitolcommunicator.com). Say goodbye to the [right-hand sidebar](https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-removes-right-hand-sidebar-ads/156912/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) (gutter) ad space. Soon, you’ll only be able to see 1-4 ads above the fold (and find more ads at the bottom of your search scroll). Apparently, Google has been planning for this [l](http://www.thesempost.com/updates-on-googles-4-adwords-ads-no-sidebar-ads-change/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com)[ayout update](http://www.thesempost.com/updates-on-googles-4-adwords-ads-no-sidebar-ads-change/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) for a while, but the real question is, [what impact will these changes have on you](http://searchengineland.com/googles-new-serp-layout-4-biggest-winners-losers-based-data-243292?ref=capitolcommunicator.com)?
