**Radio Personality “Don Geronimo”, who was dismissed from iHeartMedia classic rock “Big 100.3” WBIG Washington, D.C.,** after he made sexist comments about WUSA-TV reporter **Sharla McBride**, has issued a formal apology, reports Inside Radio.

“Last week, during my live radio show from the Commanders’ training camp, I used inappropriate words in a way that hurt someone. I deeply and sincerely apologize for the pain I caused WUSA sports reporter Sharla McBride,” the statement read. “As has been reported, I insensitively used the terms ‘Barbie,’ ‘Barbie girl,’ and ‘chick’ when talking about Ms. McBride, a fellow broadcaster who I did not know or recognize when she walked by our broadcast position. My attempts to be humorous and topical backfired, and I needlessly deprecated a professional colleague.”

Hi, Barbie girl! I’m guessing she’s a cheerleader.” Later in the show, Geronimo said to his producer, Crash Young, “Oh hey. There’s that chick that you thought … said tight.” Young replied, “Yeah. I screamed tight when she was…” [Awful Announcing](https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/don-geronimo-fired-female-reporter.html?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) reported. “I think. I think she’s a sportscaster at Channel 9\. Or Channel 7,” Geronimo continued. “Yeah, she’s familiar,” Young answered. “I thought she was a cheerleader,” Geronimo replied.
