AAF DC Presents: AM AdBuzz: Going Virtual

September 21, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Virtual reality is unleashing a new kind of immersive journalism and storytelling that allows viewers to step inside the story and experience the world in powerful new ways. Using new tools such as special cameras that shoot 360-degree video, storytellers immerse people in places and situations they might never encounter, showing them the whole scene and putting them in charge of what they want to see.

Now at the Newseum, you can visit the VR Theater to see highlights of recent VR stories from around the world, put on a headset to immerse yourself in the Newseum’s Top 10 VR videos of the month in the VR Lab – or use the kiosks adjacent to the VR Lab to play a 360-degree video on a flat screen.

Join us and check out the experience for yourself! You’ll hear Newseum thought leaders Mitch Gelman and CathyTrost discuss the development of the new exhibit, where they think this new technology is headed, and the implications for storytellers of all kinds.
