Brand-Building Selfies: Using Instagram and Snapchat Stories to Unleash Results

Instagram and Snapchat are two of the fastest growing social networks. Currently there are more than 600 million people on Instagram sharing both photos and videos while 158 million people use Snapchat to send more than 10 billion videos a day.

As brands face ever more competition for people’s attention, social media “stories” offer a new approach. Instead of interrupting others with your story, why not become part of theirs? Through exclusive content, influencer engagement, geofilters and targeted advertising, an array of organizations ranging from corporate brands to advocacy campaigns are leveraging today’s tools engage people like never before.

This hands-on session will cover the big picture strategy while also digging into basic features and best practices. What Snapchat and Instagram features should communicators be aware of and incorporate into their strategy toolkits?
How can brands utilize the ‘stories’ feature on both platforms to provide followers with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into events or products?
Where is the platform headed and can it be used for PR and advertising?
