**Facebook will unveil a news notifications app** dubbed “Notify” next week in partnership with some high-profile media brands, reports [TheWrap](http://www.thewrap.com/facebook-to-launch-news-app-with-cnn-mashable-cbs-washington-post-as-partners/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com).

TheWrap report, in part, also stated:

“CNN, Mashable, CBS News, The Washington Post and Vogue are the inaugural partners for the app.

“Notify will feature “content from a range of print, digital and video companies,” the **Financial Times** reported.

“The standalone app will refer users back to the sites of the media organizations that have published a breaking story.

“The new Facebook app joins an increasingly crowded field of social and tech initiatives to aggregate and create news.”
