**Elon Musk has named Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s CEO**, ending “intense speculation about who the billionaire would appoint as his successor” at the social-media platform, reports Business Insider.

“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” Musk wrote on Twitter. “[@LindaYacc](https://twitter.com/lindayacc?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology. Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.”

She had been Chairman, Global Advertising & Partnerships at NBCUniversal.

The announcement appears to end the guessing game of who Musk would name as CEO, following his $44 billion takeover deal last year, adds Business Insider, and “she inherits a tough gig.
