Lisa Martin, president and CEO of Fairfax, Va-based LeapFrog Solutions, has been named the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council’s (ACT-IAC) 2016 Small Business Advocate for Industry.
“I’m honored to be this year’s Small Business Advocate for Industry,” Martin said. “I am a small business owner and enjoy encouraging other small businesses to pursue federal contracts. I find it extremely important that more small businesses get involved in supporting the mission of every government agency.”
According to a release, “ACT-IAC charged Martin with launching its Small Business Alliance. Working with group members, Martin highlighted the needs of each of the socioeconomic small business designations. Along with other volunteers, she developed the alliance and worked to select the first chair and co-chair, who then recruited members tasked with developing events, committees, and white papers that resonate with government and small business.
The release added that Martin advocates on behalf of the Small Business Alliance Straight Talk Series, which introduces small business officers to government agency industry liaisons and large businesses in search of small business teaming partners. She also speaks on behalf of small businesses at the Homeland Security Acquisition Institute, GSA, Fairfax County Government, Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, Women in Homeland Security, and the Government Technology and Services Coalition.
