**Martha Boudreau is retiring from AARP as Chief Communications and Marketing Officer.** For about a decade, she has been instrumental in integrating the organization’s extensive communication and marketing channels and driving the brand’s voice in the marketing industry.

“It has been an honor to use my experience to elevate AARP’s voice and role across our country. During the past decade at AARP, I have learned from the impressive work of my colleagues and been continually inspired by the vision of our founder. Serving as the CCMO and being a steward of this iconic brand has been enormously fulfilling and has helped me see the many options ahead of me now and in the future.”

During her tenure at AARP, Boudreau was a constant advocate for the 50+ population by encouraging marketers to see the market potential behind this consumer segment of 120+ million people.

One of her contributions was the establishment of AARP’s first Consumer Experience function, a transformative initiative that reshaped how the organization understands and engages with its members. Her approach to communications emphasized member-centered messaging and integrated communication methods that brought clarity and coherence to the organization’s outreach.

As she prepares to step down, Boudreau leaves behind a communications infrastructure that has enhanced AARP’s ability to connect with and serve its members. Her leadership has positioned the organization as a significant communicator in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors alike.

Boudreau’s professional contributions have been recognized through numerous industry awards including: AdWeek’s Leading Women, PRWeek Hall of Fame, WWPR’s Washington Woman of the Year, PRvoke Media’s Outstanding Individual Achievement Award and PRSA-NCC Hall of Fame. She has also been a key supporter and active participant in Washington’s communications and marketing associations where she has supported industry initiatives including mentoring programs. As a member of the board of advisors of ANA’s Alliance for Inclusive and Multicultural Marketing (AIMM) she worked to have age recognized by the marketing industry as an element of diversity

Before her tenure at AARP, Boudreau spent almost 18 years at FleishmanHillard, ultimately becoming president for the Mid-Atlantic and Latin America.
