**Three Maryland media organizations have personnel news to report.**

**WBAL-TV Baltimore has named Pete Gilbert,** in main photo, as sports director, succeeding **Gerry Sandusky**, who retired after a 37-year career at the Hearst NBC affiliate. A native of Damascus, Gilbert becomes only the fourth person to hold the title in the station’s history. His connection to WBAL dates to 1995, when he interned there while attending St. Lawrence University. After launching his on-air career at KECI in Missoula, he joined Hearst Television in 1998 at KHBS-KHOG in Fort Smith-Fayetteville, Ark. He moved to WGAL in Harrisburg-Lancaster, Pa., in 2003 before returning to WBAL in 2004, where he has spent more than two decades as weekend sports anchor.

**Baltimore Magazine President** **Michael Teitelbaum** has stepped down after nearly nine years in the role. Announcing his departure on Facebook, Teitelbaum reflected on the magazine’s work across print, digital, events and its creative studio. **Debbie Darmofal**, an 18-year veteran of the publication, has been named chief operating officer. Owner **Steve Geppi** is expected to take a more active role with the outlet. Before joining Baltimore Magazine, Teitelbaum was managing partner at Right Source Marketing in Hunt Valley.

**The Daily Record has named Kendyl Kearly** as editor. She succeeds Sameer Rao, who had been appointed to the role in December 2025 following the retirement of longtime editor Thomas Baden Jr. Kearly joins the Maryland legal and business publication from The Baltimore Sun, where she spent four years as an editor covering breaking news and education.
