**Fan engagement platform SocialToaster and interactive design agency Fastspot** rank among the 5,000 fastest growing companies in the country, according to Inc. Magazine’s 2016 list.

SocialToaster is #828 on [this year’s list](http://www.inc.com/inc5000/list/2016/state/md/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) with a 3-year growth of 480 percent and 2015 revenue of $2.7 million. Fastspot took the #24 spot among Baltimore businesses and the #42 spot among Maryland businesses and was #1,980 overall.

From 2012 to 2015, Fastspot, headed by **Tracey Halvorsen** and **Amy Goldberg**, experienced 188 percent growth, grew its team from 13 employees to 23, and expanded its client base to include organizations such as Yale University, Ford’s Theatre, and the University of San Francisco. In 2013, the agency relocated to Mill No. 1, an historic cotton mill, which was rejuvenated for commercial and residential use.

**The Halethorpe, Md. office and printing plant owned by global marketing services firm Harte Hanks will close in November**, resulting in the layoff of more than 100 employees. The facility, which also houses a mailing center, produces marketing collateral such as fliers and postcards. Harte Hanks is headquartered in San Antonio and has 24 other locations across the United States. The company’s 5,000+ employees are located in North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America.

**Baltimore’s Planit announced the grand opening of Order&Chaos Coffee, the agency’s coffee shop that is also open to the public.** In addition to offering a new place for Planit employees to recharge, Order&Chaos Coffee’s floor-to-ceiling interior glass walls will provide customers with a transparent view inside the agency’s collaborative work environment. Planit also plans to frequently survey customers for useful consumer insights that may be incorporated into strategic campaigns for its clients.

“Order&Chaos lives as an actual extension of our agency and we see a real opportunity to connect with the neighborhood and literally provide a glimpse into our creative world,” said **Ed Callahan**, co-founder and creative strategist at Planit. “It also gives us the opportunity to learn more about consumers, test concepts and ideas and receive public opinions. Advertising is a stimulating industry and we hope guests will stop by to find out what we’re up to behind the glass walls.”
