**Bethesda agency McAndrew Company, Inc. was awarded the $4.95 million account** to provide services to the [Maryland Transportation Authority](https://mdta.maryland.gov/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com)’s (MDTA) Office of Communications. The contract, which has the potential to expand to $8.25 million, was approved without discussion during the May 21, 2025, meeting of the Maryland Board of Public Works (BPW).

According to the BPW meeting notes, a total of 775 potential contractors were notified of the solicitation and 39 were directly solicited. Three offers were received, and “all were determined to be reasonably susceptible of being selected for award.”

McAndrew was determined to be most advantageous to the State as its proposal was both ranked highest technically and was lowest in price. The other two firms were Integrated Designs, Inc., Glen Burnie, and Pulsar Advertising, Inc., Baltimore.

Services will be provided on an “as needed” Work Order basis beginning June 12, 2025, through May 11, 2028\. The contract has a potential value of $8.25 million if work is extended under a $3.3 million two-year renewal option.

The contract includes development, production and implementation of public-safety and traffic-management campaigns/messages utilizing traditional media, digital media, social media, public relations, community outreach, research, and analytics; crisis communications services; and website management.

MDTA’s eight toll facilities — two turnpikes, two tunnels and four bridges – help to keep traffic moving in Maryland. All of the MDTA’s projects and services are funded through tolls paid by the customers who use the MDTA’s facilities.
