# National Geographic Podcast Returns After a Million Downloads

**The second season of “Overheard at National Geographic”** will air October 15, reports Publishers Daily, which added that *National Geographic* is bringing the podcast back after the first season resulted in over a million downloads.

“The first episode, “Searching for Alien Life on Earth,” will feature NASA scientist and *National Geographic* grantee Penelope Boston, an astrobiologist who examines the most hostile environments on Earth to discover what life might look like on other planets.

“The first season [launched in June](https://www.mediapost.com/publications/article/337522/national-geographic-tests-instagram-donate-fea.html?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) and introduces listeners to the explorers, photographers and “scientists that are part of *National Geographic’*s network. It is hosted by *National Geographic* magazine editor-at-large Peter Gwin.”

Each episode from the D.C.-based organization runs under 20 minutes. There are eight episodes.
