**Maryland Governor Wes Moore has appointed Robert C. Douglas**, Esq., in main photo, to serve on the Maryland Public Broadcasting Commission, Maryland Public Television’s 11-member governing body. Douglas was previously appointed to the commission by Governors Schaefer and Glendening before serving on the MPT Foundation, Inc. board of directors for the past 14 years. In 2018, he was the recipient of the MPT Champion Award, presented to business, government, and community leaders who support MPT and its work in a significant way.

Over a nearly four-decade legal career, 30 years of which were at the Baltimore office of the national law firm DLA Piper LLP, Douglas provided organizations and clients with strategic legal counsel and representation on a wide range of civil and government matters. He currently operates the Office of Bob Douglas LLC to serve corporate and individual clients.

Before his legal career, Douglas worked locally in both broadcast and print media for more than a decade. He held producer and assignment editor roles at WMAR-TV and was managing editor at WBAL-TV. He was also a reporter and editor at the Baltimore News-American newspaper.
