 The [Urban Land Institute](http://uli.org/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) (ULI), a global research and education institute dedicated to responsible land use and creating thriving communities, has appointed **Adam J. Smolyar** as its chief marketing and membership officer. Smolyar has extensive experience in branding, strategic communications, marketing, membership recruitment and retention, and information technology. Smolyar has more than 15 years of experience in marketing-related functions, including brand management, marketing and communications, digital/social media marketing, marketing research and analysis, customer/membership experience, and technology initiatives. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of strategic communications at the New York City headquarters office of Savills Studley, a global commercial real estate services firm specializing in tenant representation.

**Lauren Levinson**, a corporate and PA group manager for Ketchum, has moved to drug company lobbying giant the [Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America](http://www.phrma.org/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) as VP of communications. Levinson spent nearly eight years at Ketchum in Washington, rising to VP and group manager before a stint on Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign. For D.C.-based PhRMA, she leads communications strategy and public positioning, and will manage staffers focused on executive visibility, rapid response and proactive PR under senior VP Robert Zirkelbach. She was previously a director of Prism Public Affairs and account supervisor for Powell Tate.

Kingsley comes to Ironmark with 16 years of diverse experience in both the B2B and B2C sectors. Prior to joining the Ironmark team, she was the Director of Marketing & Development at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, MD. Kingsley previously served as the Director of Communications and Marketing at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
