# Padilla wins Best of Show at 78th Annual Virginia Public Relations Awards

**The 78th Annual Virginia Public Relations Awards were held on May 28.** The awards recognize outstanding public relations professionals and their work, and the most creative and effective communications strategies and tactics happening across Virginia.

This year, the 2025 Capital Award Best in Show – Website category and The Commonwealth Best in Show Award Commonwealth Award Best in Show winner- Public Service category were won by Padilla for work for their client Hennepin County

[The Commonwealth Award](https://prsarichmond.org/Commonwealth%5FAwards?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) recognizes exceptional public relations programs or campaigns, and the [Capital Award](https://prsarichmond.org/Capital%5FAwards?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) recognizes outstanding public relations tactics. Awards of excellence and merit are given in both categories.

In addition, two individuals working in the Greater Richmond metropolitan region are honored. The [Excellence in Public Relations Award](https://prsarichmond.org/Excellence%5Fin%5FPublic%5FRelations%5FAward?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) recognizes the extraordinary achievements of an individual who has spent his or her career working in the field. The [Rising Star Award](https://prsarichmond.org/Rising%5FStar%5FAward?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) honors a new practitioner with five or fewer years experience working in the public relations profession.

The[ Shining Star Award](https://prsarichmond.org/Shining%5FStar%5FAward?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) recognizes a mid-level career professional of 10-25 years in public relations doing incredible work, showing a high level of achievement within the field, demonstrating leadership as a professional within the PR industry, and who actively gives back to the community.
