[**Howard Bernstein**](https://www.linkedin.com/in/hbwx/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) **has left WTAJ in Altoona, PA,** where he was news anchor on the station’s 4 pm, 5 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm newscasts. Bernstein, a former long-time WUSA meteorologist in D.C. and freelancer on WJZ in Baltimore, was at WTAJ-TV from Aug 2022 – Jan 2023\. Bernstein told Capitol Communicator: “I moved to the Altoona area in August to try something new. It was a great experience and I learned a lot. Unfortunately, even with the best of intentions, sometimes things just don’t work out. Central Pennsylvania is a very nice place with a great community. As for my future plans….to be determined.”

[**Susan Cato**](https://www.aamc.org/news-insights/introducing-aamc-s-new-chief-communications-and-marketing-officer?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) **was named chief communications and marketing officer for the** **Association of American Medical Colleges** (AAMC), where she will lead the development, oversight, and implementation of a comprehensive communications and marketing program to support the AAMC’s strategic priorities, brand recognition, policy priorities, reputation, crisis communications, digital experience, and marketing campaigns. Cato joined the AAMC as senior director of digital communications in January 2020.

Mathers, formerly Chief Marketing Officer for the company, will now be responsible for oversight of the entire customer purchase experience to align sales and marketing efforts and help accelerate growth for the business. Prior to joining OPEXUS as CMO, Mathers served as VP of Marketing at Granicus.
