**Sameer Rao, named editor of The Daily Record in December**, announced on LinkedIn that he has left the legal, business and government news daily after a month in the role.

“I’ve already told many of you about this, but for those who don’t yet know, a major professional update: I’m back on the job hunt!” Rao posted on LinkedIn. “There’s no crazy or controversial or juicy story behind why I left The Daily Record after roughly a month in its top editorial role — some jobs just aren’t the right fit. And especially this year, journalism is way too important for any publication to have the wrong person steering the ship. I hope this inspires anybody reading to know that it’s fine to leave something that isn’t right, to know that it isn’t a mistake or a problem but simply an action to which (I sincerely hope!) we needn’t attach stigma.”

Rao, in main image, had replaced longtime editor **Thomas Baden Jr.**, who retired in June. Rao’s background includes Technical.ly and roles as a legal industry reporter for Law360, arts and entertainment reporter for the Baltimore Sun, culture reporter for Colorlines and neighborhood editor for Philadelphia City Paper.

**After a year at WJZ-FM in Baltimore, Scott Jameson, program director of Audacy Sports-Talk WJZ-FM (105.7 The Fan),** has left the station for Detroit. According to industry news outlet RAMP, he is returning to Detroit to support his wife’s career – she had been promoted at her medical practice – heading off a difficult commute between the two cities.
