Summer 2016 Marketing Internship Position at Carousel30

Carousel30’s summer internship program will place you in the marketing/accounts department four days a week for 14 weeks. You will receive valuable internship experience and insight into this one-of-a-kind digital agency.

Carousel30 a Capitol Communicator sponsor, specializes in creating custom strategies for a broad range of nationally focused, D.C.-based clients. Our staff is comprised of award-winning strategy, marketing, creative and technology teams. We are a full-service agency handling our clients’ marketing and advertising across social media, search and email. We also build website platforms, mobile apps and other interactive experiences.

What You Will Do:

You will assist with current Carousel30 accounts and marketing work. This includes:

  1. Account coordination
  2. Research related to client marketing efforts and current client projects
  3. Assistance with sales/lead generation including proposal coordination and research
  4. Assistance with Carousel30 marketing efforts
  5. Development of a project from start to finish throughout your internship

You will gain practical, hands-on experience across all facets of digital marketing and exposure in an award-winning agency. Additionally, you will work with a Carousel30 team member(s) to develop a project that grows your specific interests and skill sets, which you complete during the duration of your internship.

A Carousel30 team member will work with you to provide any necessary evaluation and review to your school.

You need to be:

  • A communications, marketing or advertising student with an interest in digital marketing.
  • A detail-oriented individual with good communication skills.
  • A self-starter with a desire to learn new things and interact with a diverse team of marketing, creative and technology experts.
  • Available to work onsite in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Our office is a 15-minute walk from the Braddock Road Metrorail Station.

About the Author

Greg Kihlström

Greg is an award-winning digital strategist, creative director, author and speaker. He is currently SVP Digital at Yes& (a Capitol Communicator Sponsor) as of Fall 2017 when Carousel30, the agency he founded, was acquired. He has worked with brands such as AARP, AOL, Booz Allen Hamilton, Choice Hotels, GEICO, Howard University, Marriott, MTV, The Nature Conservancy, Porsche, Toyota, United Nations and others. His work has won awards from the ADDYs, Webbys and others, been featured in books by HarperCollins and Rockport Press, publications such as Advertising Age, Communication Arts, Web Designer and Website magazine. He currently serve as VP of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) District 2, and as a Board Member of the Virginia Tech Pamplin College of Business Marketing Industry Mentoring Board (MIMB). He is Past President of AAF DC, and served on the National Board of AAF, Board of Trustees of the Trust for the George Washington Memorial Parkway, the Board of AIGA DC, and the Trust for the National Mall's National Advisory Board.
