# The Martin Agency recognized as one of Fast Company’s most innovative companies in 2023

[***Fast Company***](https://www.fastcompany.com/most-innovative-companies/list?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) has released its list of the most innovative companies that spans 54 industries and sectors. [The Martin Agency](https://www.martinagency.com/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com), based in Richmond, was selected as one of the 10 most innovative companies in advertising. One of the examples recognized was for financial services company TIAA. They wanted to illustrate the 30% gap in retirement savings between men and women, so The Martin Agency made a dress out of $1.6 million of (fake) dollar bills for New York Fashion week. Another example was for Axe, the agency went inside Fortnite and collaborated with streamer Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf to create “Mistaverse island,” an in-game location where players could play the popular Capture the Flag challenge, but with special boosters that look like Axe spray cans. Not only did the work give Fortnite fans something new to play with, it did so by tapping into the community through Giersdorf. The Martin Agency was also recognized for their work in hiring underrepresented groups in regards to gender, race and ability. They exceeded their goal in 2022\.
