# The Washington Post developing The 7 newsletter into a franchise, starting in the D.C. area

**The Washington Post is developing The 7 newsletter into a franchise,** extending to key markets, starting with the D.C. area, and globally next year.

The 7 DMV newsletter now will deliver seven stories weekdays to time-crunched residents in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. In addition, The 7 will appear on more platforms, too, states The Post, with a forthcoming podcast in November.

“We are thrilled by how well received The 7 has been in just a year since its launch. Readers have adopted The 7 into their routines, turning to it multiple times a week across platforms, making it our fastest-growing newsletter and our most clicked on audio article,” said **Coleen O’Lear**, head of curation and platforms at The Post.
