# The Washington Post records more than 71 million unique digital visitors in December 2021

**The Washington Post reports it had 71.6 million total digital unique visitors in December 2021**, up 13% month-over-month. Of this audience, 62 million visited The Post via mobile, up 18% from the previous month.

Of note, while digital visitors increased for The Post and other media outlets**,** according to a 2020 [Pew Research Center report,](https://www.pewresearch.org/journalism/fact-sheet/newspapers/?ref=capitolcommunicator.com) average minutes per visit for the top 50 U.S. daily newspapers, based on circulation, was a little less than two minutes in Q4 2020\. This is down about 45 seconds from when Pew first began tracking this in Q4 2014.
