# Feb. 23 is Regular Deadline for Virginia Public Relations Awards; Final Deadline is March 2

**If you want to be in the spotlight in** the 68th Virginia Public Relations Awards, the regular deadline is Feb. 23 ($75 for members; $95 for nonmembers) and the final deadline is March 2 ($135 for members; $155 for nonmembers). Award nominations can be submitted for work implemented, at least in part, during 2014 and will be considered in four categories:

- Commonwealth Awards: For public relations programs or campaigns
- Capital Awards: For public relations tactics
- Thomas Jefferson Award for Public Relations Excellence: Recognizing a seasoned public relations practitioner for his or her contributions to the profession
- Rising Star: Recognizing an outstanding new practitioner with five or fewer years of professional public relations experience.

(Note that while the Commonwealth and Capital Awards are open to practitioners working across Virginia, recipients of the Thomas Jefferson and Rising Star awards must work in the Greater Richmond metropolitan region.)
