**The Washington West Film Festival, Oct, 21-27,** will have a special screening, in advance of the festival, of a powerful documentary called “Frame by Frame” at the National Press Club on Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. The film follows photojournalists in Afghanistan as they wrestle with the new world of an emerging free press after the Taliban. One of the journalists is a woman who grew up under the Taliban where, states **Dan Cohen**, one of those involved in the film festival, just walking down the street and looking the wrong way could have gotten her killed.

Washington West is bringing the film to NPC because of “the importance of the many layers the documentary deals with, and the often life or death struggles journalists face everyday to cover the news”, Cohen added. The documentary goes right to the heart of the issues of a free press for any journalist and communicator. After the [screening](http://www.press.org/events/npc-documentary-screening-frame-frame%20?ref=capitolcommunicator.com), the filmmakers will Skype into the event from Europe for a Q&A and they will be joined by the ambassador from Afghanistan who will also take questions. The Q&A will be hosted by the president of The National Press Club.
