2025 Peabody Awards honor NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell was honored with a Career Achievement Award during this year’s Peabody Awards held on June 1 in Los Angeles, reports Adweek.
“This award means the world to me—not just for what it says about my work, but for what it represents about the importance of journalism,” NBC News’ chief Washington and chief foreign affairs correspondent said.
Over the course of her lengthy career, Mitchell has covered eight White House administrations, 12 presidential races, numerous global conflicts, from the fall of the Berlin Wall to 9/11 and the Iraq War.
Jeffrey P. Jones, executive director of the Peabody Awards, said Mitchell’s long, distinguished career as a journalist at various capacities covering the White House and international affairs — and the gravity of both of those positions — made her an obvious choice for the award.
