About Capitol Communicator
Capitol Communicator covers the people and companies behind marketing, advertising, public relations, media and digital in DC, Maryland and Virginia. Who moved. Who won the account. Who launched what, and where the region is meeting next.
It started in 2004 as DC Communicator, an email newsletter Paul Duning launched with Phil Rabin as editor, and became Capitol Communicator in 2008. Since then it has published more than 8,000 stories and built the Mid-Atlantic MarCom Summit into the region’s largest yearly gathering of communications people.
Now part of Fabric
In October 2026, Capitol Communicator became part of Fabric Media. The new owners are investing in the things the region already reads it for: the news, People on the Move, the Summit, and the community that shows up for all three.
