AAF Baltimore announces District 2 ADDY winners; news from MPT, Storyfarm, Warschawski and more

The AAF Baltimore tweeted that member agencies are bringing home nine Silver ADDY AWARDS in the District 2 Competition. The winners are Baltimore-based animation and game design studio bully! entertainment, agencies Planit, GKV, Sympatico Media and Viscul Creative, and production company and Capitol Communicator sponsor Storyfarm.

Two Baltimore agencies rose above and beyond at the District 2 Competition, bringing home a total of three Gold ADDY AWARDS: Sympatico Media and Viscul Creative.

Maryland Public Television celebrates the Chesapeake Bay region once again in April with its 19th annual Chesapeake Bay Week®, a slate of more than 30 documentaries programs highlighting the beauty, importance, and fragility of the nation’s largest estuary. During the week of April 16-22, MPT will offer more than 22 hours of content focusing on the Chesapeake Bay’s history, heritage, and resources as well as efforts to protect its diverse ecosystem. This year’s lineup includes 11 programs that viewers will see on MPT for the first time.

Also from MPT: Steven J. Schupak, executive vice president and station manager, accepted the prestigious Mendez Award from the Maryland International Film Festival-Hagerstown. “The Mendez Award is awarded to someone who has succeeded and made a positive impact in the television and film industry, or has supported film and television and has given back to the community,” explained Film Festival Board of Directors President Nicole Houser.

Storyfarm recently wrapped a video project for Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado. “Whenever a client hires us, we deliver WAY more than just one or two videos,” explains Storyfarm Partner Dan Gerlach. “With drum-tight planning, a single production effort can yield a ton of footage. Leaving very little of it on the cutting room floor, we can deliver additional cuts and versions of the main video (i.e., the thing we were initially contacted to make) that can be shared across more channels and platforms.

“Does it cost more than producing a one-off video? Yeah, but nowhere near what it’d be if we came out each time to make each deliverable,” Gerlach says.

Warschawski has promoted Carson Denbow to senior director. In her new role, Denbow will lead client relations and oversee the team in creating strategic integrated marketing campaigns that include PR, social media, email, advertising and digital marketing for the agency’s clients. Denbow also oversees the agency’s corporate communications and Assistant Associate Program (Warschawski’s internship program).

The American Urological Association announced Stacy Tanaka, MD, as the editor of AUANews, AUA’s official newsmagazine, published bi-monthly and free to all AUA members. She will hold the position for a three-year term.

Annapolis-based ApartmentGeofencing.com, a digital marketing company utilizing an integration with OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT, is offering an AI-powered service that creates video content using photos and content from websites and social media. An example of an AI-Powered video from ApartmentGeofencing.com, was created for The Crosby, a luxury apartment complex in Dallas.
