AAF DC Announces Leadership Team for 2017; Jodie Warren Named President

by | Nov 13, 2016

The American Advertising Federation DC Chapter (AAF DC), elected Jodie Warren of MDB Communications, pictured above, as its 2017 president. Danny Allen of Sensis was elected vice president, and Andy Blenke of Fors Marsh Group, and Evan Levent of World Wildlife Fund were elected treasurer and secretary, respectively. Scott Williams of the Newseum is immediate past-president. All officers serve a one-year term.

Warren has been a member of the AAF DC Board since 2010 and served as vice president last year. She has served as the Sponsorship Chair for two years, and was the chair of the 2016 Advertising Week DC Steering Committee. Warren also is the Director of Campaign Management at MDB Communications, a full-service agency in Washington, D.C.

“This past year has been a significant one for us: we underwent a name change at the beginning of the year and have launched several new initiatives, including a new committee that focuses on Diversity and Multiculturalism,” said Warren. “We’ve just celebrated our 13th year of Advertising Week DC with a new creative campaign and we’ve revamped our company membership to better engage with the diverse Washington, DC communications community.”

AAF DC also elected the following new board members to two-year terms: Kaila Brosey, Merritt Group; Jesse Contario, Rocket Fuel; Judy Markoe, Big Picture Marketing Consulting; Theresa Mueller, Rubicon Project; Jennifer Sherman, SpeakerBox Communications; Anuj Vedak, CHIEF; and Brian Wohlert, Centro. Lani Camacho, Sensis, was elected to a one-year term.

Members returning to the Board are: Alexandra Gonzalez, NBC4; Debbie Kaplan, Leadership Greater Washington; Geoff Livingston, Agora Ventures; Louise Salas, Wunderman DC; and Hal Schild, PCI Communications.

AAF DC Officers oversee the day-to-day management of AAF DC and make decisions about AAF DC policy, image, and goals. The Board of Directors is responsible for the management of AAF DC and serves as liaisons to our chairs of standing committees, including the American Advertising Awards-Washington DC (formerly DC ADDYs), Advertising Week DC, Membership and Member Engagement, Events, Marketing, Sponsorship, and Silver Medal.

“I am looking forward to 2017 as we have an extremely talented and motivated Board who is dedicated to continuing our mission of being a catalyst for advertising, marketing, and communications professionals in the region,” said Warren. “As we move into our 99th year, I’m excited about continuing to provide quality programming, as well as making it my focus to increase participation and engagement among all related communication fields in the Washington, D.C., region.”
