ABC News has signed CNN Beijing-based correspondent Selina Wang to be its new senior White House correspondent, reports TV Newser. Wang, left in photo, joined CNN in July 2020 as a Tokyo-based correspondent for CNN International. She transitioned to Beijing in October 2022 and became CNN’s sole correspondent in China. During her years at CNN, Wang has reported on key stories from China and the Asia-Pacific region, leading coverage on China’s economic, political and societal transformation and its evolving relationships with governments and leaders around the world.
In addition, NBC News announced that Gabe Gutierrez is taking on the role of senior White House correspondent, as the organization builds up its 2024 presidential election coverage team. According to TV Newser, Gutierrez, right in photo, most recently a New York-based national correspondent for NBC News, joins the network’s White House coverage team led by chief White House correspondent Peter Alexander and senior White House correspondent Kelly O’Donnell, who also happens to be the new White House Correspondents’ Association president.
