Addis Communications won three awards from MarCom, one of the largest creative marketing and communications competitions in the world, which receives an estimated 6,000 entries each year.
The health and science agency, which was launched in the D.C. area in 2018,, won a platinum award for its white paper and series of accompanying infographics, “Promote or Perish: Sharing Your Research to Advance Your Science and Your Career.” The special project was done on behalf of the American Institute of Physics Publishing, a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Institute of Physics (AIP). The agency also won two gold awards: one for the AIP annual report, Excellence Matters, and a second award for Addis Communications branding.
In addition, Addis Communications was honored by Graphic Design USA’s 55th Annual American Graphic Design AwardsTM for agency branding/identity design. Graphic Design USA receives more than 10,000 entries each year in a variety of categories, and only 10 percent are selected as winners.
“I launched Addis Communications to do PR and communications work I’m passionate about — working with national organizations to serve as their trusted strategic communications partner,” said Karen Addis, APR, president and CEO of Addis Communications (and shown above). “To learn that I have already won four prestigious awards for my clients as well as an award for the branding of my own agency in just a few months of being in business is beyond thrilling.”
Before Addis launched her agency, she worked for Ogilvy, Environics, Van Eperen and GLA Communications.
