Admirable Devil Receives WeWork Grant for Black-Owned Businesses

by | Sep 2, 2020

Washington, D.C.-based agency Admirable Devil was awarded a $10,000 grant by WeWork as part of an effort to fund Black small business owners who operate out of WeWork locations around the US.

This summer, 200 grants were awarded after WeWork and Ureeka, a small business champion and mentorship community, reviewed hundreds of applications. D.C.-area businesses received 45 of the grants.

Admirable Devil, a Capitol Communicator sponsor,  is a certified minority-owned business and AdAge Small Agency Award winner whose clients include The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and Quantic School of Business & Technology. Co-founder and Chief Strategist Joel Johnson said, “This grant will help us continue to pay it forward by working with purpose-driven brands.” Johnson was previously managing director of another Black-owned business, Spike DDB, the ad agency co-owned by filmmaker Spike Lee.
