“TRESPASS – Because Innovators Never Ask Permission” is Theme of ADWKDC 2016

by | Oct 14, 2016

We live in a world full of proverbial No Trespassing signs, states AAF DC, “prohibiting us from exploring the adjacent possible at every turn. We’re told don’t go there because it’s too risky, too hard, not your job, or not the way we’ve always done it. We’re at the mercy of the status quo and afraid of what lies beyond.

“We say go ahead, TRESPASS! Because innovators never ask permission.

“We’re thrilled to announce this as the official 2016 theme, a perfect tag for the spirit of what the ADWKDC conference is all about.

ADWKDC, Advertising Week DC, which runs from Oct. 15-21, and is billed as the leading, all-encompassing marketing/communications industry conference in the mid-Atlantic region, is expected to reach nearly 400 attendees over the course of the week.

According to a release, some of the industry’s heaviest hitters will be in attendance and presenting thought leadership, new technology, trends, etc. The list of speakers includes:

Peter Coughter, author of the highly-acclaimed book The Art of the Pitch, who will be at the official kick-off on Monday, October 17, at 1776 in Crystal City;

Rance Crain (Ad Age) will present on 100 years of Ad Age and 10 Entrepreneurial Lessons;

Chris Edwards, Creative Director and author of the newly released book Balls;

 Jayanta Jenkins, newly appointed Global Group Creative Director at Twitter;

Merrie Spaeth, world-renowned media relations and crisis management expert and founder of Spaeth Communications in Dallas, TX; and,

Martha Boudreau, Chief Communications and Marketing Officer of AARP and the 2016 recipient of the AAF-DC Silver Medal Award.

ADWKDC Chair and Vice President of AAF DC, Jodie Warren (MDB Communications) said, “Just when I think we can’t raise the bar any higher for the notability and caliber of our speakers, we do! In addition to the most content and talented speakers we’ve had to date, I am also really excited about some new initiatives this year, including our hosted events, creative campaign and other onsite surprises in store. I hope everyone makes time to attend this year!”

Advertising Week DC (ADWKDC), now in its 13th year, is produced by AAF-DC, local chapter of American Advertising Federation.
