Weber Shandwick was named 2016 PR Agency of the Year and Large PR Agency of the Year at the PRWeek U.S. Awards. This is the second consecutive year the firm has been awarded both of these top industry distinctions. According to Weber Shandwick, “The PRWeek Awards honor the best work, professionals, companies and agencies in the communications industry across 35 competitive categories every year. In awarding Weber Shandwick these honors, PRWeek stated that “the numbers tell the story,” pointing to the firm’s strong growth, new business wins and client retention. PRWeek also recognized Weber Shandwick’s “culture, innovation, and results for clients,” in addition to its “truly outstanding team” and “game-changing work.””
Weber Shandwick has offices in D.C. and Baltimore, with the D.C. office operating as Powell Tate, a division of Weber Shandwick.
Dave Groobert left his position as general manager of Environics’ D.C. office, although he’s still consulting to the agency while also starting a new marketing consulting firm, Pratt Street Communications, with Julie Garel, a friend and former co-worker from Doner Advertising. Groobert also will be working on my master’s degree, with the long-term goal of teaching communications full-time at the college/university level.
Fixation Marketing in Bethesda added John S. Henderson in the newly created role of VP Industry Relations & Strategy. According to a release, Henderson brings to Fixation “an extensive background in trade association management with a particular expertise in developing and enhancing member outreach and education.”
