Alex Wallace, who has overseen the D.C. bureau of NBC News, leaving the network

Alex Wallace, a 10-year veteran of NBC News, is leaving the network. As senior vice president, Wallace has overseen NBC Nightly News as well as Meet the Press, and, since 2014, the D.C., bureau.
The news was announced by NBC News president Deborah Turness at the editorial meeting. Turness will oversee D.C. operations while Janelle Rodriguez, who joined NBC in December as senior vp editorial, will oversee Nightly News.
Wallace joined NBC News as Weekend Today EP in 2005. In 2007 she was named vice president of News, essentially the No. 2 job in the news division. In 2007, she took over as exec producer of Nightly News with Brian Williams, but returned to the front office in 2008. The move, states a report, comes as News Division head Andy Lack solidifies his senior management.
