Georgetown University named Meghan Dubyak as Associate Vice President for Strategic Communications. Dubyak joins Georgetown from the White House, where she served as Vice President Joe Biden’s Press Secretary. While there, states a release, she played a leading role in managing the strategic communications of key policy initiatives, such as the Cancer Moonshot and the “It’s On Us” sexual assault campaign. She succeeds Stacy Kerr, who stepped down at the end of December to launch her own communications consulting firm.

Levick added Sam Huxley, previously the global lead of digital crisis at FleishmanHillard, as SVP and chair of its risk and business strategy practice, reports PR Week. Based in D.C., Huxley is chairing the new practice and working as an adviser and strategist.

Allen Harim, a leading producer and processor of chicken on Delmarva, named Catherine M. Bassett its PR director. A graduate of George Washington University, Bassett began her career in Salisbury, Md., as a newspaper reporter for The Daily Times in 1989. She later served as communications director for Congressman Wayne T. Gilchrest, R-Maryland, for 16 years. She started her own public relations company in 2009, and has worked with a range of clients including Delmarva Power, the Ocean City Air Show, Maryland Capital Enterprises and the Delmarva Zoological Society.
