Clean Creative, a Baltimore-based firm specializing in the prevention of cross-platform malvertising, announced that Matt Gillis has joined the company as its first chief executive officer.

According to the announcement, Gillis is a seasoned mobile industry leader who most recently served as Senior Vice President of Publisher Platforms at Oath, responsible for their “global publisher facing programmatic monetization tools and services.” Previously, he was President, Platform Business at Baltimore’s Millennial Media, which was acquired by Verizon/AOL in 2015.

“The DNA that Matt brings to Clean Creative is exactly what we were looking for,” said Seth Demsey, co-founder of Clean Creative. “At this stage of our hockey stick-like growth Matt’s experience leading startups and scaling them to be global leaders fits well with our aspiration to be the global leader in delivering publishers tools to protect the free Internet for consumers.”

“Malvertising and especially bad ads has long been a game of cat and mouse that has plagued the ecosystem for a long time,” Gillis said in the statement.

Founded in late 2017, Clean Creative is an innovative security company with a singular mission: to provide effective and robust solutions that protect publishers, advertisers, and consumers from threats against the free and open Internet.
