Baltimore News: imre Moving Back to Towson; Abel Adds Creative Director; New Hires at GKV

by | Jul 3, 2019

Independent marketing agency imre announced that it is returning to Towson.  Using a heat map showing employees’ ZIP codes, agency leaders Dave Imre and Mark Eber were able to narrow the possibilities for a new office location to between Hunt Valley and Mount Washington. Towson won the day, with imre signing an 18,508-square-foot lease at the eight-story Court Towers in Towson, a Class A office building at 210 W. Pennsylvania Ave.

The firm is moving its 95 employees from Sparks on November 1. The new offices will be able to house 145 people and will occupy the entire seventh floor of the building completed in 1989. Imre was represented by Savills in the relocation.

Towson’s burgeoning core — with more retail and restaurants on the way — fit the bill, according to the announcement. Imre, which has offices in New York and Los Angeles, had previously been located in Towson but moved north to Sparks 12 years ago. The firm employs 149 people across its three offices.

Eber said employees missed the convenience of Towson and being able to walk to restaurants. Towson’s current retail boom includes an upcoming Whole Foods at the planned Towson Row development and continued development by the nearby Towson University. The buildout that has launched this month will include large conference spaces, a sprawling modern kitchen and an outdoor patio.

In Hampden, Abel Communications announced the addition of Chris LaMartina as Creative Director and head of Abel’s Creative Services team. In previous roles, LaMartina produced and directed commercials and online video content for clients such as Under Armour, Home Depot, Stanley Black & Decker, Legg Mason and Navy Federal Credit Union. Prior to his role at Abel, he managed the video team at A. Bright Idea, directing and producing content for national clients such as the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and BASF, as well as regional car dealership Bob Bell Automotive.

Baltimore-based GKV, one of the mid-Atlantic’s largest independent marketing/advertising firms, announced two new employees. Jon Leon joins as senior art director from HZDG. Caprice Roché joins GKV as an assistant account executive. Previously she interned with TBC, Inc. and the Catholic Charities of Baltimore.
