Independent marketing agency imre announced that it is returning to Towson. Using a heat map showing employees’ ZIP codes, agency leaders Dave Imre and Mark Eber were able to narrow the possibilities for a new office location to between Hunt Valley and Mount Washington. Towson won the day, with imre signing an 18,508-square-foot lease at the eight-story Court Towers in Towson, a Class A office building at 210 W. Pennsylvania Ave.
The firm is moving its 95 employees from Sparks on November 1. The new offices will be able to house 145 people and will occupy the entire seventh floor of the building completed in 1989. Imre was represented by Savills in the relocation.
Towson’s burgeoning core — with more retail and restaurants on the way — fit the bill, according to the announcement. Imre, which has offices in New York and Los Angeles, had previously been located in Towson but moved north to Sparks 12 years ago. The firm employs 149 people across its three offices.
Eber said employees missed the convenience of Towson and being able to walk to restaurants. Towson’s current retail boom includes an upcoming Whole Foods at the planned Towson Row development and continued development by the nearby Towson University. The buildout that has launched this month will include large conference spaces, a sprawling modern kitchen and an outdoor patio.
