A GoFundMe page has been established to help insight180, a branding and design firm in Ellicott City, Md, that was among the businesses hit hard by the devastating floodwaters that claimed two lives, made national headlines and wiped out many businesses in the historic Howard County town.
Operating in Ellicott City for more than 16 years, agency founder and president Wendy Baird has been permitted to enter the Main Street office a few times for 10 minutes at a time to gather what’s left or salvageable. It is estimated that at least four feet of water entered the office; all of the agency’s desktop Macs were submerged. She’s working on setting up temporary or virtual space for her four employees.
“Anyone who knows Wendy knows that she is someone who continually gives back,” wrote Katie Pertiet on the GoFundMe page. “Whether it’s through pro bono design services, her concerts, cabaret and singing events that have raised funds for nonprofits, serving on local boards, fundraising and volunteering.
“Right now she’s trying to coordinate fundraising efforts for other EC businesses whose inventory and infrastructure were destroyed. But frankly, she is going to need a lot of help herself,” according to Pertiet.
