BRG Communications Acquires We Are HeadStart
BRG Communications, a healthcare-focused public relations and integrated communications agency based in Alexandria, VA, acquired We Are HeadStart, a boutique PR and marketing firm with primary headquarters in Washington, D.C, specializing in startups, venture capital firms and organizations supporting emerging businesses.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The acquired agency will operate as BRG HeadStart, a division of BRG Communications, retaining its focus on startups and the broader innovation ecosystem while gaining access to BRG’s healthcare expertise and integrated marketing capabilities.
Founded in 2021 by Michael Stern and Naomi Brodsky, HeadStart provides communications strategy, media relations, messaging, content development and branding services to emerging companies and investors across the health, workplace and business growth sectors.
Stern and Brodsky will continue leading BRG HeadStart as managing directors, supported by the agency’s existing remote team.
“As BRG looks toward its next chapter, we’re focused on continuing to expand our expertise, strengthen our capabilities and reach new segments of the healthcare market,” said Jane Barwis, president and CEO of BRG Communications.
Through the combination, states a release, "BRG HeadStart clients will gain access to additional services spanning healthcare communications, medical technology, public health, research and insights, digital strategy, creative development and paid media.
"BRG’s existing clients will also be able to draw on HeadStart’s experience supporting emerging companies and investors through fundraising milestones, market launches and periods of rapid growth."
The two businesses will maintain their respective client focuses while collaborating on projects that benefit from their combined expertise.
