Annapolis native Tim Tunison has been named news director of WBAL-TV. Serving as assistant news director since 2005, he succeeds Michelle Butt, who was promoted to president and general manager of the Hearst-owned NBC affiliate in Winston-Salem, N.C., WXII-TV.
Hunt Valley-based Harvey hired Jen Leah as art director for the COVERGIRL account. She joins from Anthem Worldwide where she designed and managed packaging, wall and POP displays for Revlon and Almay. Harvey also announced the website re-design for another beauty client, Bubbles, the chain of 38 salons owned by Ratner Companies, and new digital work coming in 2015 for Glory Days Grill and Advance.
The Daily Record announced its 2015 Influential Marylanders honorees, 51 of Maryland’s top leaders selected by the editors for leadership and significant contributions in their industries. Winners in the communications category were Anita A. Brightman, A Bright Idea Inc.; Sheilah Kast of WYPR’s “Maryland Morning,” Warner Mason, WebbMason Inc.; and David D. Smith, Sinclair Broadcast Group. Greg Cangialosi, MissionTix/Betamore, was selected in the technology category.
