Owings Mills-based MGH has added five new employees: Andrea Cohen joins from IMRE as a social media marketing account manager; Joon Kim is now a senior copywriter, joining from Franklin Street Marketing and Barber Martin Agency in Richmond, Va. Also, Jess Reikowsky joins MGH’s interactive team as a digital media specialist; Paul Shiahis is now a traffic coordinator; and, former GKV senior AE Lea Staines has been hired as an account supervisor.

Alex Jackson joins Maroon PR as a senior account executive. He most recently served as Director of Communications for the Howard County Chamber of Commerce. Previously, he was a reporter with The Capital and the Baltimore Business Journal.

In Baltimore media news, Channel 11/WBAL-TV shifted the start of its morning news from 5 a.m. to 4:30 a.m. Also at WBAL, News Director Michelle Butt has departed for a position as president and general manager of WXII-TV, Hearst’s NBC affiliate serving the Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point N.C. market. Orioles broadcasts, previously heard on WBAL-AM, will switch to CBS Radio’s 105.7 the Fan beginning with the 2015 season. The Orioles had been on WBAL for most of their 61 years in Baltimore, and from 2007-2010 were on the FM 105.7. Local communicators can hear the latest about WBAL during a meet the reporters and editors event at the station on Feb. 11 co-sponsored by the Baltimore Public Relations Council and the Maryland Chapter of PRSA.
