GKV announced the promotion of Shannon Gardiner to senior vice president and director of account management. Gardiner joined GKV in 2010 with more than 15 years of advertising experience and has been responsible for managing key agency accounts in the health care and CPG categories, including CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and several McCormick & Company brands. “Shannon was the logical choice for this significant role within the agency,” stated Roger Gray, GKV’s chairman and CEO. “She has been a rising star since the day she joined GKV and has earned the respect of her teams and our clients. We look forward to supporting Shannon as she mentors, grows and enhances the account management team and GKV’s offerings to our clients.”
Planit launched a #rADicalwomen social media series honoring women such as Phyllis Kenner Robinson, Emily Weiss, Susan Care and Gail Anderson who have made huge contributions to the advertising and technology industries. The campaign is a passion project led by Planit Creative Director Jess Brown, who found in her own research that she and her team had a general lack of awareness around the many contributions of women to the fields of technology, advertising, design and creative direction — and decided to take this opportunity to shine a light on some of those women. On March 8 Planit launched a video of Brown talking about the inspiration behind the campaign, and how she wants to keep the conversation going about the contributions women make in our field beyond International Women’s Day.

Weiss PR reported it has signed several international and technology clients over the past few months, making 2017 another record year for the firm, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. “Our continued growth is a testament to our vision in founding Weiss PR as a firm that provides clients with ideas built on strategy – not egos – from a team of senior public relations professionals committed to providing exceptional service, great work, and measurable results,” said company President and Co-Founder Ray Weiss. “Companies from around the world recognize and appreciate the value we bring to the table.” On the international front, Weiss PR recently began work for two Australian-based companies: Kradle, a business management software provider; and Envirosuite, which offers real-time environmental data management and risk forecasting technologies. Stateside, Weiss PR was tapped to provide PR services for Numerica Corporation, a Colorado-based company that delivers state-of-the-art defense and law enforcement solutions to both government and industry customers. In February, the firm relocated offices to Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood.
