Groove announced its first overseas hire, Jim Banks, as director of paid media. Banks is located in the U.K. and will focus on leading the growth of Groove’s paid media division globally and leading Groove’s operational expansion into Europe. In 2000, Banks founded one of the earliest paid search agencies, Web Diversity, which was acquired in 2006 by Think Partnership (now Inuvo). Most recently, Banks served as Global Head of Biddable Media at Cheapflights, part of the momondo group.
MGH won two Silver District II ADDYs for its advertising work for client OLD BAY. The awards were received for the OLD BAY HOT launch newspaper ad MGH created, as well as its overall campaign to launch OLD BAY HOT, which included interactive banners, additional print ads, and media drops that were delivered to news outlets filled with OLD BAY HOT samples and a fire extinguisher. This marks the second year in a row that the agency has been recognized at the district level for its OLD BAY work. At the Baltimore ADDY competition level, MGH took home the coveted Best in Show award for the second year in a row for the OLD BAY HOT launch newspaper ad, marking the fifth time in eight years that the agency has won the top awarded prize.
At the Walters, Kate Burgin has been named the institution’s new deputy director for museum advancement. Burgin will lead the museum’s development, marketing and communications, and visitor services staff
In an announcement by Peter Murray, vice president of global sports marketing, Under Armour has expanded its sports marketing program into horse racing through a partnership with Godolphin, the global thoroughbred horse racing and breeding operation. In a joint release, the companies said this marks the first time an international equestrian organization has teamed up with a leading global sports brand for apparel.
Warschawski has promoted Sam Ruchlewicz to senior associate. In his new role, Ruchlewicz will oversee client accounts and be responsible for the creation and execution of integrated marketing communications campaigns.
