Christopher A. Eddings, Daily Record newspaper executive, dies at 75

Christopher A. Eddings, a longtime newspaper executive in Baltimore who dedicated his career to nurturing journalistic talent and serving local communities, died December 10 at Stella Maris hospice in Timonium. He was 75. The cause was lung cancer, according to his family.

Eddings spent nearly three decades in Baltimore’s media landscape, rising through the ranks of The Daily Record to become a senior executive. He joined the publication as publisher in 1997 and went on to serve as group publisher of The Dolan Company’s law publications in 2003 and operations director for The Daily Record in 2010.

When he retired in 2014, Eddings was president of The Daily Record and director of publishing operations for The Dolan Company, which has since evolved into BridgeTower Media — now one of the country’s largest business-to-business media companies with a presence in more than 25 markets.

Originally from Massachusetts, Eddings made Baltimore his home for nearly 30 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his commitment to fostering future leaders in journalism and his passion for community service.
