More consolidation is underway at regional publisher Modern Luxury, which is shutting down the print editions of two more magazines, reports the New York Post.
The Post’s stated that “Michael Clements is out as editor in chief of Capitol File. Modern Luxury picked up Capitol File and LA Confidential in 2017 when it acquired Greengale Media, the Las Vegas-based publisher that had snapped up both magazines a decade earlier when it acquired Niche Media from founder Jason Binn. At the time of the 2017 merger, Modern Luxury CEO Michael Dickey said he had no plans to close any titles, even though there were a half dozen cities that had overlapping titles. DC Magazine, a sister title also owned by Modern Luxury, survives but is losing editor-in-chief Kristen Hodsdon. She is being replaced by returning vet Michael McCarthy.
Capitol File and LA Confidential are expected to live on online.
