Megan H. Chan joins The Washington Post as director of digital operations. Chan had been with Politico, where she has been director of digital products.

According to The Post, in her new role, “Megan will be a persistent and insistent voice for rapid digital progress within the newsroom. She will work with departments to ensure that all necessary steps are being taken to succeed in a digital environment, whether that means adopting new technology tools that can amplify traffic, meeting story publication schedules that best suit online reading patterns or seizing opportunities to present our journalism on new digital platforms. The goal is to have The Post deliver its best possible digital performance every day in every corner of the newsroom.

“Megan will identify best practices that can be applied across the newsroom, seek to address any weaknesses in individual departments, and identify areas that require more digital support. She will regularly embed in departments, working side by side with reporters and editors.”
